Paul Connolly is our managing director, a position that covers everything from strategic direction to general dogsbody-ness.
He has been a journalist and media consultant for over 25 years, in a career that has covered many aspects of print and digital news-gathering from reporting to senior management.
Our video agency pioneered the use of smartphone video journalism in Northern Ireland before also branching out to web-friendly video for commercial customers, websites and social media. We also provide VMS management services and the creation, acquisition and curation of video.
Paul has held a range of positions at the Belfast Telegraph, most lately Group Managing Editor (until 2014). Until August 2016, Paul was a member of the Board of the UK Society of Editors and the Accreditation Board of the National Council for the Training of Journalists.
He has also worked for other local papers and freelanced for Time Magazine and the News of the World.
Director of Photography
Paul McParland is our director of photography, which means he assesses and advises on all things related to filming. He also is chief videographer on key projects and directs our team of videographers as required.
Paul has been a professional filmmaker for 15 years. He has been Director of Photography on two Northern Irish feature films and numerous short films.
He has directed a number of documentaries and has filmed in the USA, Australia and Europe.
Paul has produced films for Queen’s University Belfast, Lough Erne Resort, Charles Hurst and Graham Construction and has shot and directed over 100 music promos. He has recently completed a feature documentary filmed in the USA.
His work has been broadcast on BBC and ITV and has been screened at film festivals all over the world.
